About Us
Blacksburg Master Chorale is a community chorus of more than 100 voices. We sing a large repertoire ranging from major works of the classics as well as lesser known, but no less inspiring, works of contemporary composers. Our singers feel so fortunate to be able to rehearse under the leadership of accomplished directors and to share exceptional music with local audiences.
We ended our 2024-2025 year with the magnificent Mozart Requiem, performed at the Moss Arts Center along with The Virginia Tech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Virginia Tech Chamber Choir, followed by two other performances at Warm Hearth Village and Commonwealth Assisted Living, as well as a celebration of the life of beloved Virginia Tech Professor Nikki Giovanni, again performed at the Moss, featuring African American hymns and spirituals.
While our 2025-2026 season has not yet been officially announced, we can reveal that the year will be filled with:
Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates throughout the coming year.
Also under our banner is the Blacksburg Children's Chorale. The young singers learn music theory, sight reading music and singing along with the Master Chorale in several performances.Behind the scenes of all great performances is a myriad of working parts that include the skilled preparation of paid professionals, little-known but necessary operational expenses, and countless volunteer hours above and beyond singing. This year we hope to raise $10,000 through the GiveLocal campaign to undergird our plans for another meaningful season of song, but even more importantly we hope to gain new donors who appreciate having the experience of hearing our music. 100% of our Board of Directors donate. Any size donation is greatly appreciated. If you love choral music and you want to hear it continue to thrive in the New River Valley, make a gift to the Blacksburg Master Chorale today!
Thank you for your generosity!!
