Blue Ridge Mountains Council, BSA

A nonprofit organization

The Blue Ridge Mountains Council, BSA serves 21 counties and 7 cities in Southwest and Central Virginia. We are headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia.

Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. To Achieve our mission, we create innovative programs and evolve existing ones that respond to the needs of today's families and deliver them through dedicated volunteers in communities across the nation.

One of our big goals for 2020 is to increase our Scoutreach program. Scoutreach gives special leadership and emphasis to urban and rural Scouting programs. Scoutreach is the BSA's commitment to making sure that all young people have an opportunity to join Scouting,  regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood, or ethnic background.

Our biggest asset in urban and rural neighborhoods is a well defined program based on values, learning-by-doing, fun, and positive role models. As a Council we served 357 Scouts in 2019 in our Scoutreach program. Help us deliver and expand our programming for these youth in the Roanoke Valley. The giving levels below represent some of the costs these units face throughout the year. Help us continue to grow Scouting and serve more kids in 2020!
