Alta Mons Inc

Alta Mons is the outdoor ministry of the Valley Ridge District of the United Methodist Church. Located in Shawsville, VA, we provide space year-round for people to experience God in the beauty of nature. We offer summer camp and other programming for children and youth. Hikers, campers, and RVers enjoy our beautiful grounds and trail to Stiles Falls throughout the year. We also have a number of facilities available to rent for weddings, family reunions, retreats, or small group meetings. Our facilities include several challenge courses and a pool available for rent, as well. Alta Mons is a welcoming place apart for people of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds to come and experience God through the beauty of nature!

Thanks to many generous donors, Alta Mons is able to help offset the cost of camp for those parents and children that need financial assistance. Alta Mons strives to be a welcoming place apart.  We recognize the seriousness of current events.  It is our mission to provide an inclusive community in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.  The Alta Mons experience is available to all and we act together to oppose racism and oppression in all forms.
