Community Foundation of the New River Valley

For more than 30 years, the CFNRV has worked with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to establish endowments that meet the New River Valley's needs now and for generations to come. We work hand-in-hand with donors to understand the issues of importance to them and connect them to the NRV organizations making a difference in those issue areas everyday. Since awarding our first $3,000 in grants in 1997, the CFNRV has distributed $9 million in grants to nonprofits and scholarships to college-bound students. 

To best serve our donors, we need to understand the many charitable organizations serving our region, their challenges, and how our funds and expertise can help them accomplish their goals as individual organizations or through collaboration with others. The Fund for the NRV at the CFNRV supports regional collaboration to expand access to fresh foods, high-quality childcare, and healthcare. It also underwrites free nonprofit leadership training in areas like grant-writing, finance, and marketing; and it makes the Annual GiveLocalNRV Giving Day possible.
