Flying Changes VA (FCVA), more commonly known as Flying Changes, was founded from a passion inspired by the powerful impact of equine experiences in residential treatment programs for at-risk teens. In 2009, Flying Changes became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and spent several years partnering with local agencies and organizations to provide equine-assisted services.

After several seasons of growth, change, and renewal, we are excited to be entering our third year at Willow Brook Farms. Today, Flying Changes offers equine-assisted activities and learning experiences for individuals, families, groups, and organizations, including team-building and professional development programs.

Located in Riner, Virginia, Flying Changes brings together years of equine expertise and clinical experience through a collaborative approach that partners licensed mental health professionals with experienced equine specialists (ARCH certified). Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for growth, connection, learning, and well-being through the unique relationship between people and horses.

Willowbrook Farm is home to 4 horses and 2 donkeys, and is a private landscape located in Riner, less than 5 miles off I-81 at exit 114.  Our peaceful green fields lie far from the noise and pressure of everyday life and welcomes its visitors with the sounds of songbirds, the rustling of leaves in the cool breeze, and the comfort of real companionship. 

With the beauty of nature as our backdrop and horses at the heart of our work, Flying Changes brings together experienced therapists, equine specialists, and horses to create meaningful opportunities for growth, connection, and learning. Through ground-based equine-assisted activities, we support mental health, neurodivergence, and personal development for individuals, families, groups, and organizations.
