We do not receive any local, state, or federal funding.

Mission

The Humane Society of Montgomery County is a private cat shelter. We house 60-100 cats/kittens at any given time. Established in 1971, we are and always have been, a no kill facility.  Adoptable cats/kittens stay at the shelter until they are adopted, no matter how long that takes.  

Programs

The Humane Society of Montgomery County's programs include a recently remodeled shelter that houses approximately 60-100 cats.  All cat/kittens are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $50.00.

• We operate a low cost spay/neuter program.
• The HSMC provides pet food to those in need through our pet food pantry. 
• Volunteers are always welcomed at the shelter to keep our guests comfortable until their new homes are found.
