Mission

The Humane Society of Montgomery County is a private cat shelter. We house 60-100 cats/kittens at any given time. Established in 1971, we are and always have been, a no kill facility.  Adoptable cats/kittens stay at the shelter until they are adopted, no matter how long that takes.  

The Humane Society of Montgomery County operates solely in donations. We do not receive any local, state, or federal funding.

Programs

The Humane Society of Montgomery County's programs include a recently remodeled shelter that houses approximately 100 cats.  All cat/kittens are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $35.00.

We operate a spay/neuter program for low-income residents of Montgomery County.    

The HSMC provides pet food to those in need through our pet food pantry. 

Volunteers are always welcomed at the shelter to keep our guests comfortable until their new homes are found.
