New River Mount Rogers Workforce Development Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The power of work changes lives and communities”– Brad Turner-Little President & CEO of the National Association of Workforce Boards

We believe this!

The New River/Mount Rogers Foundation (Foundation) supports the work of the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board (WDB) and the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Area Consortium Board (CB).  The Foundation focuses its attention on meeting the needs of the jobseekers served by the WDB & CB programs that are fostering their prosperity through occupational skills training, personal development opportunities, and wraparound supportive services to maximize their employment success. The job seekers we serve have not had easy lives, and they’re typically from at-risk, disadvantaged, and underrepresented populations. They’re 16 to 24 year old youth who don’t have a high school diploma or marketable skills, individuals who are in recovery from substance use disorder, individuals who have returned to our community from incarceration, and individuals who are living in poverty struggling just to get through to the next day. But one thing they all have in common is they want to make a better life for themselves and their families. And we’d like to help them by enabling them to have access to, gain and retain meaningful employment that pays family sustaining wages and with opportunities for advancement.

With your financial support, participants can receive help with travel expenses to training, credentialing fees, childcare expenses, food, emergency housing, and others with the goal of obtaining and retaining employment.

Your charitable donation to the New River/Mount Rogers Foundation can make a difference in someone’s life, and 100 percent of donations goes to participant support, not operational costs.
