Sojourn Center

At Sojourn Center, we believe everyone deserves exceptional end-of-life care that provides comfort, support, and dignity. Sojourn Center will honor, celebrate, and lovingly support a person’s final passage.

Sojourn Center will be a state-of-the-art, inpatient hospice center (commonly called a hospice house) to serve the terminally ill and their families in the New River Valley and southwest Virginia, staffed by experts in end-of-life care.

Sojourn Center is a 501(c)3 organization with a strong 13-member Board of Directors and hundreds of citizen friends on southwest Virginia.

Since our beginning vision, Sojourn Center has made considerable progress toward three important goals:

         1) designing and building an inpatient hospice facility,

         2) securing a partnership with a hospice agency operator and

         3) developing community support and partnerships.

The goal of Sojourn Center is to design and build an 8-bed inpatient hospice facility on our 27-acres of donated land and serve the citizens of the NRV and further southwest. In addition, Sojourn Center will be an educational opportunity for local universities and medical and nursing programs to offer clinical experiences in excellent end-of-life care as well as being a site for extensive community volunteers to serve.
