How GiveLocalNRV Benefits Businesses

This well-established Giving Day is an outstanding source of publicity for local businesses because it reaches thousands of donors and community members, and we take every opportunity to shine a spotlight on the sponsors that make it possible!

  • Since 2014, our community has raised more than $4.3 million for nonprofits addressing a variety of issues, including animals, arts and history, civic affairs, education, the environment, health, poverty, and much more.
  • Over 100 nonprofits across the New River Valley participate each year in the Community Foundation's annual Giving Day, reaching thousands of donors in the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Wythe, and the City of Radford.
  • The Community Foundation engages in year-round publicity for the platform and executes a concentrated marketing campaign specific to the Giving Day that reaches thousands of community members.

  • We leverage social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram), as well as partnering with traditional radio, television, and newspapers, and other print media to advertise and raise awareness about the event and the sponsors that make it possible.

Become a sponsor!

We have both annual and Giving Day specific options available:

  • Giving Day-specific sponsorships: ranging from $500 - $4,999, these sponsorships support Giving Day grants, which nonprofits compete for throughout the Early Giving period (beginning June 1) and the Giving Day event that will kick off at noon on Wednesday, June 25 and end at noon on Thursday, June 26.
  • Year-round packages: these sponsorship packages are designed to promote partnership between the CFNRV and our $5,000+ sponsors all year. Packages include support for the Fund for the NRV, Community Foundation events, and the GiveLocalNRV Giving Day.

Cultivate workplace giving opportunities!

The GiveLocalNRV platform supports tailored, corporate and employer giving pages that allow you to customize giving opportunities for your employees, including offering matching grants to magnify the impact of your employees' giving.

  • Employee giving: Encourage your employees to participate in the giving day by making a donation to the nonprofit(s) of their choice.
  • Get social: Use social media to encourage your customers and supporters to participate in GiveLocalNRV. Share the givelocalnrv.org event site with your community to encourage giving.

1. Set up a Group Giving page for your company

Whether you run a small business or manage one of the largest, you are the heart of our community. We want to assist you in making philanthropy easy, efficient, and fun! To give businesses the opportunity to get more involved, we are offering custom group giving pages for your company.

2. Provide a Matching Grant to help encourage giving

You can set up a match for your group giving page to incentivize employee giving. Matches help amplify impact and showcase your company's support for giving. They motivate donors and amplify your campaign's success.

3. Motivate generosity through perks and prizes

Take it to the next level by offering fun prizes and perks to entice giving amongst your employees. Set goals for your company and encourage meeting those goals through random drawings for prizes, pizza parties and more.  

Keep it on brand.

Boutin Jones is a law firm that made waves during the Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s Big Day of Giving (BDOG). 

They hosted a group giving campaign page for their employees to donate to during BDOG, utilizing the Mightycause Group Giving tool to track their community impact. 

Despite setting a goal of $10,000, they went above and beyond by raising $31,056 from 129 donations to benefit over 100 local causes, further fueled by a generous matching incentive from Boutin Jones...
