Mark your calendars for the annual day of giving in the New River Valley! On June 24th, donors are encouraged to give a minimum of $5 to the organization or fund of their choice to help our community grow! All donations raised on June 24th will go towards the June Bug Center's Afterschool Programs!

Our Mission: The June Bug Center for Arts and Education (JBC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing music, performing arts, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) through ongoing afterschool programs, classes, and community theatre productions that are affordable to the New River Valley community.

The main focus of the JBC is to provide affordable opportunities in music, performing arts, and STEAM. In 2010, The JBC started offering afterschool programs Monday through Friday, which include: Floyd JAMS (Junior Appalachian Musicians), LEGO & Robotics Club, Blue Ridge Strings, Computer Camp, Acting Out, Musical Theatre for Teens, and Improv. These programs cover a variety of interests such as old-time music, classical music, engineering, coding, theatre, dance, and musical theatre. The JBC also rents out space to local artists to offer affordable classes to the community such as dance, gymnastics, aikido, and yoga. All of these programs are ongoing throughout the school year. In 2014, the JBC also became home to the Floyd Community Theatre Guild (FCTG) that provides affordable performances for the community. In 2018, the JBC was voted "Non-Profit of The Year," by the Floyd Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks to the community, fundraising, program funding, and grant funding, the June Bug Center for Arts and Education (JBC) is able to offer programs to the community and low-income families to ensure that every child has access to these opportunities. For the 2019-2020 school year, 67% of students received reduced tuition and ten students received a full scholarship to the JBC programs.

Your donation today will go towards the JBC's reduced tuition and scholarship fund. Here are some donation options:

1. $40 will help pay for a student's instrument or learning materials for a semester.

2. $90 will help pay for half a student's tuition for a semester.

3. $180 will help pay for a student's full tuition for a semester.

4. $500 will help the JBC pay a local artist/professional to instruct a program or provide creative enrichment.

If you have any questions you can contact emily@thejunebugcenter.com or call 540-745-6550! Thank you for your support!
