OUR STORY
Agape Center NRV is a Christ centered nonprofit, multi-church outreach ministry serving the New River Valley. Our goal is to attend to the heartfelt needs of those in our local community by the giving of ourselves and our resources. In addition to providing basic necessities of food, diapers, clothing and more, we also mentor our clients and provide spiritual support and prayer, if desired. Our hope is to help people turn or return to a Christ centered life.
| Agape Center NRV started serving the New River Valley in August of 2020. Since then we have provided nearly $2,000.000 in resources to those who need it the most. By working with numerous partner agencies and an army of volunteers we are able to fill the gap for hundreds of families. Collectively, Agape Center Corporation serves thousands of Virginia families each year. |
In March of this year the Agape Center Corporation purchased the old Weller Baker School Complex located at 1175 Cambria Street in Christiansburg, Virginia. They are preparing to start the phase one renovation in the next few weeks. The project estimate is $350,000 and will be focused on the main level of the school and the warehouse that houses their various pantries. The work will include new handicapped accessible restrooms, a suite of six rooms to be used for mentoring and Celebrate Recovery group meeting space, a large flex- space for our Getting Ahead Training Program and updated office space. The main floor will also have a clothing boutique. Agape services are available to the residents of the New River Valley at no charge. Agape is a 100% volunteer run organization. This keeps their overhead low, allowing them to use their resources to achieve the greatest impact. In October 2022, they opened our new warehouse and pantry building. Agape Center NRV looks forward to a grand opening of the former school building in Spring of 2023.
