Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-profit initiative under New River Community Action which offers basic food supplies, once a month, to low-income Blacksburg/McCoy residents or those in emergency situations, including homeless individuals and families.

The Interfaith Food Pantry was formed as a cooperative effort by area churches. The Pantry is staffed by volunteers from the participating churches, other organizations, and volunteers from the community.

Food and monetary donations come from local churches, civic clubs, schools, businesses, Virginia Tech organizations, and various food drives (including the annual U.S. Postal Service drive). We also receive donations from local businesses. In season, fresh vegetables are donated by local residents. Several members of our community grow food specifically for the food pantry. We have a relationship with Feeding American and receive contributions from Kroger, Food Lion, Bimbo Bakeries, and Panera.
