From Terrie Sternberg: The Joy of Making Art
After all these years...
I wanted to learn how to make stained glass, so I took a 6-week class from Edna Love around 1998. Since that time, with a lot of practice, I have gotten better at the art, and now I use my skills to create stained glass pieces of all types and sizes and designs and donate them as silent auction items to benefit local non-profit organizations whose work is invaluable to the quality of life for people living in the New River Valley.Turning what I learned into a gift for good!
What I learned then is now being put to use for good!
This story is just one of many reasons why I am committed to volunteering time and energy and financial support for the Fine Arts Center for the NRV.
Our monthly Creative Club for children ages 4-12 gives me and otherFree monthly art classes for children volunteers an opportunity to witness the creative and uninhibited flow of ideas and vision to the particular art project we are making. And to watch adults gain new artistry skills through our adult art education programs is another joy I receive.
