Giving Tuesday occurs the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a globally recognized day to give to your favorite charities/organizations and just in time to get those last tax-deductible donations in before the new year.
New River Valley Disability Resource Center (NRV DRC) is a nonprofit organization providing advocacy, special education, and independent living services, as well as disability etiquette workshops, peer support, and transition services to individuals with disabilities located in Giles, Floyd, Montgomery, and Pulaski Counties and the City of Radford.
This year, the CARES ACT has allowed an additional exception, it states as follows: "(1) Individuals will be able to claim a $300 above-the-line deduction for cash contributions made, generally, to public charities in 2020. This rule effectively allows a limited charitable deduction to taxpayers claiming the standard deduction."
