Digit the Tripod Dog!

We are still unsure as to what caused his initial leg injury, but the vet was able to tell us she believed he began chewing away at his foot.. which resulted in him having no toes (digits) on his hind leg, as well as missing the majority of his paw pad. 😭 His little ear had also seen better days, and required suturing. 

Unfortunately, it could not be salvaged and we made the decision to amputate. This eliminated the likelihood of complications from that nasty foot of his, and has already improved his quality of life. Before, he couldn't even walk, and now he is already learning how to be a rockstar on three legs. 

Between exams, x-rays, the amputation and medications- such a little dude racked up a hefty vet bill. We have created a fundraiser for those who would like to help afford his medical care.
