Paul Haluszczak's Springhouse Fundraiser

Over the river and through the woods, to my parents' house we go! 

This May, Springhouse staff, students, and community members embarked on a unique challenge walking from Floyd to Roanoke, VA—a four-day, 44-mile journey filled with dancing, singing, and sharing moments of joy across mountain views and winding roads.

A seemingly random excursion was anything but. Across these four days, participants shared in an intergenerational learning experience where taking care of vulnerability, cultivating personhood, building beloved community, learning from the Earth, and loving and serving others was ever-present.

Now, with June in full swing, Springhouse's one and only fundraiser of the year is, too!

Experiencing some major FOMO (fear of missing out) for not being able to participate in this year's walk, I'm dedicating my personal fundraiser to doing a similar challenge in St. Louis!

For every $100 donated, I will walk one mile. My ultimate goal is to walk all the way to my parents' house, a 30-mile trek, in one day!

Google Maps says this walk will take around 11 hours (without stopping) and winds through some interesting places to keep me off the freeway 😅.

BUT, I'll only get there if we can reach the fundraising goal of $3,000. 

Admittedly, my network is not robust enough to make this happen with a few friends and family donating (thank you to those of you who do!). So, I'll need your help spreading the word!
