Blue Mountain School Tuition Assistance Fund

Blue Mountain School has been serving the Floyd Community for 43 years. As a non-profit school, service is at the center of all the ways we connect with our community. We believe all children are entitled to the pedagogical excellence that is foundational to Blue Mountain School’s innovative Contemplative Progressive approach to alternative education. 

We recognize that in our changing economy and society the costs of educating our children are continuing to rise, emotionally and fiscally. We are working to create engaging community care models so that the abundance that we believe is there can be available for us all. 

To meet this need, we introduced a sliding scale tuition approach in 2020. We are continuing to cultivate our abilities to create more accessibility to all children in our community.  Blue Mountain is proud to be a Virginia Child Care Subsidy Provider. We are committed to taking action to grow our tuition assistance program.  We welcome families to apply, and continue to grow and thrive here in the woods at Blue Mountain School. 

To continue our growth and transformation as a school community we need you! Please donate what you can to our tuition assistance fund today. Every donation matters - - small and large - - to support our thriving community. Your donations will go towards the critical community care needs of increasing teacher salaries by supporting students and families to meet tuition costs. 

While we are developing our tuition assistance programs, your support is valuable and meaningful. Monetary contributions, offers of time to fundraise, grant research and writing; and other innovative ideas and planning are all ways of contributing. We are grateful for your gifts, as well as your suggestions for ways we can continue to improve.
