My Life's Work: Jenny's Fundraiser for Springhouse

Education is not a thing. It is an intergenerational community. It is the journey of determining what knowledge, skills, and ways of being are important enough for us to embody and pass down.  For years I was hired to fan the flames of vitality in all kinds of organizations–churches, schools, domestic violence centers, police departments, hospitals, and more. The problem was, after singing, dancing, telling stories, creating art, and having courageous conversations, the culture that didn't allow for that in the first place was still present. So as quickly as the flame rose, it would diminish. It did not have the culture to sustain it. I am the Founding Visionary at Springhouse and feel so grateful to have the experience of finally being in a CULTURE where vitality is at the center. So much is possible when this is the case. The spark of vitality has a shot of being sustainable when a whole community is taking care of it in place. Though our practices are ancient, they are not well practiced. We need more vitality in this world. For things to be radically different in this world, we must do things radically different. This begins with how we design education and at Springhouse, we are humbly taking on the work of building regenerative culture by creating vitality-centered education, one day at a time.
