MY SPRINGHOUSE STORY

Hi, I'm Aster! I'm 14 years old and a passionate artist and writer. I love expressing myself through my art, capturing emotions, stories, and the beauty I see in the world around me. Creating is my way of connecting with others and sharing a piece of my heart. It’s a place where I can explore new ideas, unite with others, and inspire people through my skill. My school is one of my outlets for my work; where I can nurture my creativity. It has made such a positive impact on my life.

However, it’s way more than just that—it's a community. As a relationship-centered school, Springhouse creates space for young people to grow, not just academically, but as whole human beings. We focus on real-life learning, expression, and collaboration, helping students become thoughtful, capable, and resilient leaders. We go on week long trips, have a print shop, and are physically active! For the past few springs, we’ve been hosting a puppet parade in addition.

Many schools are driven by tests and grades, but we invest in the well-being and potential of each person. Supporting our school means supporting a different kind of education–one that values connection, purpose, and the future we want to build together.

THANK YOU!

Building Beloved Community for 11 Years in Floyd County and Beyond

Springhouse envisions a world where all life thrives. Through our intergenerational school and community print shop, we are committed to creating a culture that takes care of life, one person and one community at a time. At large, the culture we live in does not care for vulnerability. Now more than ever, we need places to practice taking better care of vulnerability and living in ways that are in greater alignment with life.

Springhouse is a place for anyone who wants to practice living in ways that take better care of life. Though their programs have fees, Springhouse is committed to accessibility – no one is turned away for financial reasons.

This work will take generations. Your gift allows Springhouse to continue offering accessible and equitable programs for all.
