Building a beloved Community in BEADS-Kenya

Springhouse is awakening vitality through education that brings out the life in us all!

As BEADS, our connection with springhouse and belief in the five key principles of sourced design have significantly enhanced both our school safety and emotional well-being. We call ourselves a happy school because in our commitment in building a beloved community. When life is at the center, relationships matter and bonds become strengthened and cohesion dominates. amazingly, this explains  why despite the many reported school unrests around us, we have enjoyed the calmness and a conducive learning atmosphere for all. As teachers, we have learned how best to empower learners and make them feel significant. It is very important to us that women rise above all odds and find their voices- this is happening!

My name in Magaga Enos, a high school teacher in Kenya. I work with BEADS for Education. An organization that uses quality education to source for power and transformation from vulnerability. 

I have lots of things that bring me alive at Springhouse. Springhouse challenged me to re-imagine my role as a teacher to the students I am entrusted with. It led me to a pleasant discovery that building a beloved community is a prerequisite to optimum educational gains. I have also learned to diversify what I accept as an evidence of learners' understanding. I think with life at the center, we holistically approach education, we mold character and produce global citizens. I strongly believe that springhouse brought into life what was missing.
