Ian Stabler's Springhouse Fundraising Page

 Springhouse is a truly amazing place and has high goals of creating a culture where all life thrives. We do this slowly through education (one person at a time, building the capacity for them to go into the world and change the cultures they will inhabit), Quickly through media (we are writing and printing books and making posters in our print shop), and with a connected global network (you!).

This year we did a lot of things in the name of reaching these lofty goals. Here were some of my favorite:

-We partnered with The Equal Justice Initiative to both teach a class centered around racial injustice, the death penalty, and the book “Just Mercy”, and host community gatherings throughout the trimester centered around the same themes. We also traveled to Atlanta to visit their powerful museum and meet with their staff. 

-We opened a letterpress print shop. We are using this shop to print books, posters and cards that spread our message that life is a gift and must be taken care of. Our goal is that these sparks sent out into the world light fires in people's hearts and that Springhouse can then help those who want to fan those flames bring life-giving culture to their communities. We are currently printing, binding, folding and shipping 500 copies of our first book “Consider the Source” written by our founder Jenny Finn. 

-We partnered with our community to develop and put on a giant puppet parade through the streets of Floyd celebrating our region’s biodiversity and bringing joy and play to our environmental work as a community. It was a spectacle (see attached photos)!

So all this to say that this year I am trying to raise 12,750 dollars for this place to continue to do this work. My plan is to harness our collective resources to bring in:

-5 people from $50

-30 people for $100

-5 people for $500

-2 people for $1000

-1 person for $5000
