Did you know that you can pay less taxes while still benefiting education and Blue Mountain School? We can share up to $13,000 in NAP (Neighborhood Assistance Program) tax credits with our donors!

Because we are a 501(c)3, all donations to Blue Mountain School are tax deductible, which benefits you as a taxpayer. Blue Mountain School has also been accepted as a participant in the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), which allows us to offer tax credits in return for larger donations from individuals and businesses. Established in 1981, the NAP encourages donations to approved non-profit institutions which benefit low-income individuals or families.
This is how your donation to BMS can actually put money back in your pocket if you pay Virginia State income taxes as an individual or as a business:
Make a minimum $500 donation for individuals, and you will receive a $325 tax credit on your state taxes. The true cost to you for your $500 donation is actually $175. The total contribution may also be claimed in full as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax return. To redeem this tax credit you must donate directly to our organization in the form of a check or PayPal donation. Your tax credit donation CAN NOT be made through our fundraiser page. For self-employed donors or donors who own small or large businesses, a minimum $616 donation results in a $400.40 credit. This tax credit is IN ADDITION to federal tax credits.
This means that you could receive a total benefit of 80% to 100% by donating to Blue Mountain School; in other words, you may get the entire donation back in tax credits.

Last fall, when we faced the challenge of serving students in the safest and most caring manner we could imagine, it led us right back to our roots! The vision of community members 40 years ago continues to be at the heart of Blue Mountain School today.
In our 40th year, we’re thrilled to have 3 generations of Blue Mountain School! We’re fueled by 40 years of relationship with the many community members who participated as students, teachers, parents, grandparents, board members and kind, generous donors.
We need your support this year as much as ever to continue 40 more years of our Contemplative Progressive approach, grounded in constructivist, nature-based, and social-emotional learning, committed to nurturing our students, our community and our world.
