Through our GiveLocalNRV initiative, The Community Foundation of the New River Valley brings together nonprofits, donors, volunteers, and local businesses to support our community. Organizations that serve the NRV can use this platform year-round to raise funds and awareness for their organizations.
The signature event for the GiveLocalNRV initiative is our annual Giving Day, held each June. Since 2014, the event has raised more than $5.15 million from thousands of donors for dozens of wonderful causes. Our 2026 GiveLocalNRV Giving Day will be held from noon on Wednesday, June 24 to noon on Thursday, June 25.

Nonprofits
Sign-up for the 13th annual GiveLocalNRV Giving Day opened on March 1. Each year 100+ organizations serving the New River Valley sign up to participate in the event.
What do you need to do to participate?
1. Sign up for the event, even if you have participated in the past. The sign-up will close on May 1 at 11:59p.

Donors
Support your favorite New River Valley causes with a donation of $5 or more! Early giving will begin on June 1 and donations will be accepted until noon on June 25.
The CFNRV and our generous partners are offering $25,000+ in incentive grants and prizes for participating nonprofits, so your donation has the power to go farther now than it might at other times of the year.
